Greater Care Services

Greater Care Services UK Limited trains its staff thoroughly to ensure that they are competent to carry out their assigned tasks safely for themselves and for our Service Users. The individual support workers are fully trained to a required standard and qualification to meet the needs of our Service Users. All our support workers are given mandatory, induction and foundation training which include The Care Certificate.

This includes:

  • The nature of personal care and the basic skills required
  • Health & safety training
  • Moving and handling
  • Safeguarding adults (POVA) and where appropriate, children
  • Training on the Mental Capacity Act and DoLs
  • Caring for people with dementia
  • Infection control
  • Food hygiene
  • First aid
  • Fire safety
  • Data protection
  • Medication support training
  • GDPR
  • Core values, key policies and working practices, and quality standards
  • Code of personal conduct
  • Effective use of PPE
  • Lone Working

Our support workers are given social and community training, for example on how to behave when with Service Users, on confidentiality, and on Service Users’’ rights. All support workers and office based employees are encouraged to undertake RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework) qualifications in Health and Social Care, with a view to exceeding the requirements set out in the National Minimum Standards for Care Agencies. This RQF qualification builds on the Induction and Foundation training. Specialist training would also be arranged for support workers if they are caring for Service Uses with specialist needs or conditions, or if they are just keen to progress their skills.
